Abbeville - Debate over how to stop large trucks from going into downtown

Last week an 18-wheeler ran a stop sign in downtown Abbeville and hit a vehicle. No one was hurt – this time. But one Abbeville councilman fears that the day is coming when a major accident will occur in front of Abbeville City Hall.
Vehicles traveling south on La. 82 are required to stop in front of City Hall to let traffic pass that is coming around the Courthouse toward’s City Hall.
The problem is that many are not stopping, especially large trucks.
