And some who are good talented kids that can't stand what their coach is about. That don't respect him. Not every kid/person can be treated the same and will respond the same. That's what relating to your players means. That's what good recruiters do, they talk to their coaches, teachers, parents, family friends and find out what kind of person they are and then you figure out how to relate. Or you can be a stubborn dictator and have attrition problems and get mediocre results and effort ...because believe it or not kids that don't leave but don't want to be here are even worse. Raymone Andrews didn't want to be here but Marlin wouldn't release him...that worked out great.
