Then stop being lazy and research the subject, educate yourself if you are interested. Life will go a lot smoother if you don't depend on others.

so you saw what? 2 more years....and that makes you an expert?

You seem defensive. Again, you are making a statement about his transfer rate. I have zero knowledge of the topic. You seem to have a lot.

337 D1 basketball schools. Over 700 transfers--So I guess if Marlin has 2 transfers per season, he's average.

He cut an entire team and almost whole recruiting class and was allowed a do-over...still having to beg a kid to stay. IF Davis becomes Raymone Andrews will Marlin get another do over?

Not an expert, I'm informed on the subject I'm discussing.. Which obviously is more than you can claim.

you're right. I really don't know much of what you're trying to get across. Marlin seems to have an average retention and I haven't heard much other than Marlin sucks, can't keep players blah blah. an informed poster on ragin pagin. good for you. If you're so informed why don't you post some legitimate names and numbers?

That's why we are average at best after 6 years and I'm being a homer when I say that. He is an average coach who will always get average results.

But that is not the argument at hand....The argument is not about how good of a coach Marlin is. That is for another thread but just for the record he needs to be replaced soon. The argument is about the facts and figures of Marlin's retention rate as a coach, and I think he is average.

when you can't recruit your retention rate can't be average. If you are a solid recruiter you can deal with it a little more because you can go get others...when you finally land a quality kid you can't let him leave. We lost a kid because he "wasn't good enough"...he just committed to South Carolina. Davis has all he could want in front of him as far as playing time just sat out a year yet he was willing to leave and sit out another year or transfer down. Like I said earlier you can be naive if you want... Not all attrition is the same...the way you lose guys matters.

so he has less room for error because he is not a good recruitor. true. Marlin is not big time. We can only speculate why Davis thought about leaving, but that is all it is. He is playing for us so lets see what happens. Maybe after this season we get a new coach Davis likes

It's a problem, it's Marlins problem...doesn't mean it is all his fault but it is all his problem.

We aren't talking about walk-ons hanging it up or leaving because of lack of minutes. You have guys with 4 years of starting ahead then wanting to leave.
I exclude KY and the other one and done group members from the "average" in my nothing more than a gut feel average.
