There is no doubt that he is improving and is less suseptible to the breaking ball than he was at the beginning of the season. You can see his potential in his HR at bat agains LSU (3-2 count that started 0-2 and he fouled off at least 3 pitches) and his at bat in the sixth inning on Tuesday night. If he continues to improve, we will continue to get better.
South Al has had a terrific first half of the conference schedule; I have compared their stats to ours (in conference) and the big stats I see is they have scored many more runs and have around 50 more walks than we do. If you aren't going to hit for big numbers you have to get runners on base (and not lose them by caught stealing) so the hits mean more. We can improve so much here it is crazy.
