Stevie P is the best thing on the station. Perfect morning show host for the drive to work.

It's worth checking in every afternoon to see if BOP is talking about something interesting or relevant to Louisiana athletics.

Sadly, other than that, there really isn't much to keep my attention in the afternoon.

I'm not interested in the NBA talk or NFL contract talk AT ALL.

I have Sirius in my truck. Love it.

I would agree with this but I do like the NBA and wish they talked more pelicans but I'm now trying out XM radio as well so its filled a bit of a void. Can't listen to Rykman. Sorry.

My biggest problem is with the two guys who call in every day to every show and usually talk about the NBA. One guy's name is Jay and, I think, the other guy's name is Ron. Once one word is spoken by one of them, I switch channels. If they're going to get that much air time, why not give them their own shows? That way, I'll know when not to listen.

Ah yes. One of them was going on incessantly about how the Warriors could not win the title last year because they were nothing but a "jump shooting team". Of course, deep into last year's regular season, Stevie P would go on about how the Warriors would not get past Memphis, Los Angeles, or San Antonio in the playoffs. I found myself listening some for the humor.

It makes me smile every time Troy calls in and usually completely derails any topic the host is on. As an example, Stevie P was talking about Will Smith and the shooting last week. Troy calls in and asks about the Colorado Rockies. I couldn't help but laugh.

Troy is my favorite as well.

Stevie needs a once a week wrestling show to get it all out of his system. An MMA show would do well also. Hockey...I don't see any demand. Your best bet is to find a podcast.

I would tune in for Stevie P wrestling highlights. That guy gets hype

I like 103.7 from 0600 to 0900. Dave Schultz does bring a fresh outsider's view to local sports . Then at 0900 its foote time. Then at 1500 its Jay Bird time.

fwiw, my order of preference: jay, first on the list. his is the only classic radio sports talk show we have. after him, everybody is fighting for second. maybe kevin at the top of that list, maybe, but remember, this is not his day job. steve has plenty of broadcast experience. too bad it does not come across on the air. as far as ryk., and bitter are concerned, they are not in the hunt as they have no business being on the air.

Boy, you said a mouthful there. Let me tell you about one of those "well known" individuals. He used to do work as a contractor for the company I used to work for. I would sometimes be listening to the radio and he would call in. I knew he was offshore and "supposed" to be working, but yet I'm hearing him on the radio! WTF!!!!

Not to derail the thread but the Warriors kind of came out of nowhere to be what they are so there weren't that many people expecting them to win it that early. They redefined what the NBA has been for so many years which is a big man league by playing small ball and running their offense through the perimeter. They were also made up of some young talent mixed with journeymen who have somehow found the fountain of youth such as Shawn Livingston, Iguodala and Barbosa. I think there were a lot of people doubting whether they could close the deal based on that system.

I don't deny what you are saying but, if you knew what the individual in question was hired to do, you would know that he had no business calling into a radio show!

But what people were ignoring last year ... even when they were blowing people away late in the regular season ... that this Warrior team could play serious defense.

Also what went under appreciated for a long time ... the Warriors play excellent team basketball (something I felt was lacking in the NBA for a long time). They are very good and patient at finding the open man and move very well without the ball. It is not just a bunch of "jump shooters".

If people paid more attention, they would be shocked at how many layups the Warriors are able to attain with their move the ball offense. No doubt, being so proficient with their three pointers is a contributor to that. I think they will revolutionize the NBA as teams in the future will defend them in such a way to insure the three is taken away, even if more layups result. That is how I would defend them were I game planning for them.

They are also fun to watch because all of them enjoy playing the game so much. Normally, I don't pull for any teams from that part of the world because I don't want people with those political views to be happy about anything as they make things tougher for the rest of us. I digress however. The actual Warrior team is much more complete than casual observes realize and I don't think they garner appropriate respect.
