Here in Houston, for the most part, sports radio is professional. You have some shows where the talent is more about the show and the antics then the sports. I would say that 103.7 comes across to me more like what I hear in Houston.

Also what went under appreciated for a long time ... the Warriors play excellent team basketball (something I felt was lacking in the NBA for a long time). They are very good and patient at finding the open man and move very well without the ball. It is not just a bunch of "jump shooters".

You are right, they do defend and they are an excellent rebounding team which very few people talk about, even though they play a lot of small ball. They were just the exception not the rule. Its hard to think of a time where a team has more than 50% of its scoring from a backcourt that gets most of its shots outside of the lane. At some point, the law of averages will take over and correct things but it hasn't with these guys in two full years now.

No doubt, being so proficient with their three pointers is a contributor to that. I think they will revolutionize the NBA as teams in the future will defend them in such a way to insure the three is taken away, even if more layups result. That is how I would defend them were I game planning for them.

They are also fun to watch because all of them enjoy playing the game so much. Normally, I don't pull for any teams from that part of the world because I don't want people with those political views to be happy about anything as they make things tougher for the rest of us. I digress however. The actual Warrior team is much more complete than casual observes realize and I don't think they garner appropriate respect.
The outside shooting is a major factor as it tightens the defense and creates more back cuts by the guards but its also the ability to pull every single big man they have out of the lane and run the offense through them, thus allowing Curry and Thompson to actually run off ball screens and run cuts to the basket rather than just giving them the ball and telling them to create.

They do this because most of their bigs can hit the outside shot well and they are excellent passers which many teams are now starting to emulate. Its essentially the spread offense of NBA basketball.

i'm in a good situation for sports talk radio where i live. i get 2 fm stations from little rock. one is geared primarily toward espn programming, while the other is mostly local programming staffed by former UA jocks, a local sportswriter, etc. when the local guys start in with their schtick, like steve, ryk, or bitter, i just turn over to the espn station.
