---I guess this goes along with the thread--but today I was with Coach T as he did his spot on the Asheville ESPN station---he has a guest segment every couple of days on college football and is doing a history of college football for the college Hall of Fame---the topic was Ohio State and other schools from the SEC and the rivalry---I was very impressed with his knowledge of the current events and the shout out for UL---talked about the facilities and how they compared to the new Colorado ones that he had just visited---Wish he was still in the area, you can tell that UL is deep in his heart even after gigs at W & Mary, Colorado, and a few more with some great names in coaching---I should have written them down!!!
I dont like when a broadcaster talks about behind the scenes things about the production itself and uses "radio jargon"
RB has improved dramatically. Like someone else said, he brings some youth and millennial presence to 1420, which is much needed.
I was on the fence about him for a while. One fateful morning, I tuned into Stevie P, and had to change the station because he was discussing women's high school basketball scheduling.. Then wrestling.. Again.
The next morning, I flipped to 1420 and got some great content form none other then RB. I immediately liked the guy.
I would suggest listening to his show at 6 pm. He does a good job dividing his show into good segments, staying on topic, and presenting different ideas. I've been impressed honestly.
And trust me, I'm no 1420 apologist.
I agree he has made improvements. At first, you could really tell he was a newbie but he clearly knew sports. Now he's growing into his job and is much better. He is definitely different than the other radio personalities (tons of energy, very light hearted, lots of jokes and music references) and that is not for everyone. But I personally don't mind listening to him. And he will continue to get better imo
I enjot listening to RB, he brings something different.
Also, I thought he did a nice job calling the CIT game when Jay was with baseball. I don't know but basketball seems hard to call given the speed of the game and he did a nice job (was he Jay Walker? No, but it was a solid call)
I enjoy RB and his show as well.
I rather rb then most of the guests scott Prather brings on.
I find myself listening to 1037 more on the way home than 1420
