Thread: 1420

I dont like when a broadcaster talks about behind the scenes things about the production itself and uses "radio jargon"

RB has improved dramatically. Like someone else said, he brings some youth and millennial presence to 1420, which is much needed.

I was on the fence about him for a while. One fateful morning, I tuned into Stevie P, and had to change the station because he was discussing women's high school basketball scheduling.. Then wrestling.. Again.

The next morning, I flipped to 1420 and got some great content form none other then RB. I immediately liked the guy.

I would suggest listening to his show at 6 pm. He does a good job dividing his show into good segments, staying on topic, and presenting different ideas. I've been impressed honestly.

And trust me, I'm no 1420 apologist.

I agree he has made improvements. At first, you could really tell he was a newbie but he clearly knew sports. Now he's growing into his job and is much better. He is definitely different than the other radio personalities (tons of energy, very light hearted, lots of jokes and music references) and that is not for everyone. But I personally don't mind listening to him. And he will continue to get better imo

Also, I thought he did a nice job calling the CIT game when Jay was with baseball. I don't know but basketball seems hard to call given the speed of the game and he did a nice job (was he Jay Walker? No, but it was a solid call)

He sounded so nervous at the beginning of that game. I kept saying out loud, breathe RB breathe. He just kept talking.

It's ok to have a few seconds of silence. But he did a great job!

I rather rb then most of the guests scott Prather brings on.

I find myself listening to 1037 more on the way home than 1420

RB is obviously a newbie but is a breath of fresh air. He needs to get assimilated into the local culture a bit more.

He probably reads RP. The other day when someone here said that Dylan Moore is like a "cheat code". RB had an article within a couple days referring to D-Mo as a "cheat code".

    Unrelated:
Eye think the 'schtick' between Bil (grins) and Foote is good chemistry and good radio. That's my favorite hour.

For me, his out of studio stuff is really good. I love his tailgating videos, which by the way I wish they would expand. He is animated and kinda goofy on camera and it makes for really great work IMO. You can't see that on radio.

In studio, he is much improved and I like the cheap seats. It's unfortunate he choose a professional where thousands hear you on your first day of job. As much as some of us like sports, I'd bet my house we all would suck on radio. its the main reason I've never called in.
