UL — After getting a couple of days to think it over and look at the film from Saturday's spring game, Louisiana football coach Mark Hudspeth decided he does have a leader in the race to be the starting quarterback this fall.
"Jordan Davis ..."
HUD said "the fact that Davis was off limits really hurt him. He was not able to show off his elusiveness because the whistle would blow when a defender was near". I think that was posted in another thread 2 days ago before this article was written. For those judging JD off of what you saw Saturday, stop it you cannot get a fair assessment on an athletic QB in non contact situations. Ray might be the best athlete / runner. Weaver may have the best arm. JD is the best run / pass combination and most complete package of the 3.
Hope we are struggling between Young & Montana. I fear the old saying is more likely. If you're having a difficult time picking starters you probably don't have a starter. It worked for LSU between Stokley and Screen. It never worked for us with Haack & Nixon.
Before he leaves Louisiana, Jordan Davis will prove himself to be better than Broadway.
