There's also a beer festival going on that weekend for those heading over:

#1 team in the country and they don't have reserved seating or can't even charge to get into the games? Also, is it true their stadium only seats 1200?

If gainesvile is the "real swamp", hogtown seems like an odd moniker

Yes, several of Florida's non-conference opponents would be called "less than stellar," but Michigan (8-0), Washington (3-1), UCLA (2-1), Utah (1-0) and Nebraska (8-0), would not be included in that list. Florida has played 26 non-conference games thus far, 8 of them against teams ranked 62-98 in the rpi and 9 in the 100+ rankings. While I don't know what those team's records are, it's safe to say that Florida's pitching would be too much for them to handle.

It's apparent that Mike felt it was important to have a strong defensive catcher to replace Lexie, otherwise he could have put Allie Medlin or Miranda Grotenhuis in as catcher, since both of them have played this season. Brittany is obviously the best of those three defensively, otherwise Mike would not have taken the redshirt off of her this late in the season. Brittany has done fine with the mitt but has work to do with the bat.

My prior post was in support of a post made by SportyCajun who was basically telling another poster to tone down the chest thumping about UL having more homeruns than LSU and Florida combined. UL is an awesome power hitting team. But I do feel that when one is touting their team homrerun totals, you need to take into account the quality of the pitching staffs that some of those homeruns were hit off of. I am not taking anything away from UL, I am just trying to put some perspective on things.

Let me ask you this. I don't know offhand how many homeruns UL has hit in conference play to date. But do you think that they would have the same number of homeruns if they played in the SEC conference? I am strictly talking conference homerun totals if they played in the SEC.
The Cajuns have a total of 77 home runs in the 35 games they have played thus far. They have hit 36 in the 14 conference games they have played, leaving 41 in the 21 non-conference games. Would they have as many in the SEC? It depends on who those 5 series were against. If they were against Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, LSU and Missouri, probably not. If was against Auburn, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Georgia and Arkansas, it would be close.
