This was talked about last week by Maggard they want to buy new Cameras by the sunbelt baseball tourny
Between the hiring in March, and him getting his arms around what he's got we've made one important hire. A lot of getting ready to do something. I'd expect some pretty big announcements in the near future.
I'm thinking that's why he's made himself available to the Advertiger and BEV.
That guy is gone. I'm not piling more earth on his grave. I wanted him gone since the first SBC shakeup. Some here wanted to give him more time. We're four years behind.
I just hate that we were behind the big cluster of conference shuffling when we finally got our s___ together.
Once most of the realignment chips had already fallen was when we put together a good stretch of football/bowl wins, an NCAA tournament bid, hosted a super regional..in addition to a heavy investment into athletic facilities and a shuffling of athletic leadership/vision.
I'll give Farmer some credit where it's due. A lot of projects did get started under his watch. I'll thank him for that. It just seemed he lacked the leadership or foresight to take those things and parlay them into the next step for Louisiana athletics. If another round of realignment does come on, I have no doubt were in better position to be more attractive than we were 5 years ago. I hope Maggard and co have the vision for making it happen.
Let's let Farmer alone. He's gone, if he should have been gone sooner it's on T Joe.
And all the errors made while this growth was going on may have slowed it down to where it could have been. You could almost argue that it took place in spite of his presence. I would attribute it to having Hud with early success generating general fan (not hardcore) interest and T-Joe being in charge and willing to allow the interest to go beyond the interest phase. Numerous times in the previous thirty years that wasn't the case. JMO
