Not misleading. We've been a member of a conference for 30 years. American South, then Sun Belt.

Why do we count only outright titles? Did we have any good seasons, but then shared a title?
In the 1991-92 season we finished one game behind Louisiana Tech, but were declared co-champions because one of Tech's victories was a forfeit. There were also years where we won divisional titles.
However, we have only been the #1 seed for a conference tournament one time...in 2004.
Not arguing with you, but let's put things in perspective.
Bobby Paschal won one conference championship. Now, I'll put a caveat that in his final three seasons we were an independent and I maintain USL's at large selection is still one of the top three accomplishments in our athletics history.
So we haven't had enough of those. By what standards? It's ironic the "modern era" of college basketball began in our first year of probation. In the modern era, we've won two outright regular season titles, one under Bobby Paschal, one under Jessie Evans.
So, where's the benchmark for what this program is?
There's a difference between perception and reality. Reality is, we haven't been a basketball school since the death penalty.
And, that's why I'll always value NCAA appearances over regular season accomplishments.
So BOP your boy gets a pass because we've been average most of thirty years. Was he hired to remain average?
Jesse had some salty teams, Marty did too. No Bob team scared anyone.
