Sometimes I wonder about the timing of these decisions. Obviously, I nor anybody here are speaking with Register nor do we know why he is making this decision personally but I would imagine that he would be excited about the upcoming year and the amount of time he would likely get with several key contributors graduating. It's like why make this decision now?
It's a reality. Elfrid was a diamond in the rough. Stove is pretty good as a combo guard and Wright should be a 2 because he commits way to many turnovers.
But in general, outside of Elfrid we have been extremely weak at the guard position.
Register will have to sit out.
"Air" Register lost his touch this year. Was beyond terrible and seemed like basketball was not a priority of his
Hellen Keller could see CBM had Air on a short leash due to his defensive skills needing improvement this past season. I'm sure some of that pressure worked against him. He'll blossom if he can find a program where the object is run and gun, and defense is an afterthought. God's speed Mr. Register.
I don't understand the negative comments about our kids. Marlin gets paid to pick the right kids for his system.
Its disappointing because it seemed like he had bought into the idea of contributing on defense. He is a heck of an athlete and could have been a heck of a defender with the right attitude. Not sure why his shooting % fell off a cliff this year but was hoping for big things from him next year. Good luck to you cash.
If Stove continues to develop his outside shot, he could be better then good. He showed glimpse of what his game could be against Texas A&M CC and UC Irvine. He has a very quick first step when driving and if his shot because more consistent beyond the arc, he could be very good imo. If not, he will continue to be a 6'3 small forward.
