Because God also has a sense of humor.

It's important the team plays some great pitching outside of practice. Important they play some nail biter games.

That home run was going out unless the wind killed it.

Despite the numbers this year, I still didn't feel 100% about getting a close game when the bats aren't lively. Last night, we were solidly outhit in both games but being able to pull out a split in those circumstances is very reassuring. Looking at current RPI, this Baylor team is close to the caliber that we'd face in a Super
Coach Lotief stated on my radio show after the South Alabama serious that he didn't think this team is ready to face a regional arm yet from the top to the bottom of the lineup. Last night proved that he was correct in his analysis in the first game.

Fully agree. But to get to OK, you have to have regional ARMS. Throwing Stewart twice tells me we don't at this time. Once a great team figures out your ace and you only have one, it's over.

This team is getting the experience it needs. Lotief will have them ready by the post season.

God doesn't like it when you pull your pitcher aside and say "keep working the outside. They can't go opposite field in this wind." Welcome to the smite, coach. Besides, without help from wind, he'd have watched about five go over the fence.

My guess is that it was the first counted strike of that AB, which was a fouled off pitch. It was the second pitch. Mike went talk to Alex on what was showing as a 1-1 count, but may have actually been a 2-0 count due to an illegal pitch on the second pitch. Could be that both Stevie and TV folks missed it. The TV folks almost missed an illegal pitch later in the game (or maybe game 2?), even when the runner jogged over to the 3rd base after the IP. Took them a few seconds to actually figure out what was going on.
