I'm "watching" on stats tracker right now. How was Hayden thrown out going from 2nd to 3rd on a single by Elkins?

I'm surprised that Coach Mike didn't catch that theump lost track of count.

Just watched the replay. You're absolutely right. 2 fouls then a called strike 3. No one caught it.

Thrown out at home on a great throw from center.

But she was already on 2nd right? Was she holding up to see if the ball was caught? I'm guessing it wasn't a ground ball single?

When we say great throw from center it isn't an exaggeration.

Hayden was at 2nd. Elkins hit a line drive up the middle. The center fielder fielded it off a hop and thew a strike to home. Hayden didn't have a chance.

One of the strikes ended up being called an illegal pitch which made that pitch a ball.

I understood that, just figured she would have been almost to 3rd before the ball got to the center fielder.
