Boomer, we have enough players to compete next year. We have 5 returning players (I am assuming Wooten leaves as well-no knowledge here just a prediction) along with 6 new guys already lined up. New players include 1 transfer, 2 redshirts, 2 fall signees, and 1 spring commitment. I expect a couple of other spring signees in addition to the one committed already. Note, all of the new players lined up to come in other than the transfer will be freshman. We have no JUCO's lined up as of yet. I do expect we bring in someone from those ranks to be brought in as an inside player. In effect, we have 4 starters returning. Stove, Washington, and Wright return from this year's squad while transfer Bartley started the bulk of his two years at BYU. I don't know who will be the fifth starter or who the first guys off the bench will be. My prediction the fifth starter will be the redshirt freshman named Davis from Mississsippi. They will play him at the four spot at 6'6" as they will need his scoring.

Rick, there may be some people who have an idea what happened but it is unlikely they will post it here. Some things are better kept private. That is only fair to the athlete.

Anyone thinking that Hedge wasn't producing on the court should request better seats for next year...jmo.

That's not at all what happened.

What I stated was he was one of the most well rounded stat wise here is what I have to back it up.

The only fair way to look at it is by percentages and production per minutes played. I took out anyone who played less than 100 minutes on the year (Plaisance, Mcguire, Marlin, and Broussard) That leaves 11 players (Long, Wright, Washington, Stove, Shepherd, Wronkoski, Walker, Register, Hedgeman, Williams, and Wooten)

Here is how Hedgeman ranked in each of the following statistical categories of those 11.

Points per Minute 6th of 11

Rebounds per Minute 5th of 11

Assists per Minute 3rd of 11

Assist to Turnover ratio 3rd of 11

Steals per Minute 2nd of 11

Blocks per Minute 6th of 11

Free Throw Attempts per Minute 2nd of 11

    Free Throw % 6th of 11

    Field Goal % 8th of 11

    3 point % 8th of 11

Hedgeman's average ranking across the board is a 4.9, Long's was a 4.7. Everyone else was higher.

Now i know certain categories should hold more weight than others, but the point I was trying to make is Hedgeman was well rounded. He did alot of the little things well and compared to everyone else was middle of the pack or above in just about every statistical category.

Thanks for taking the time to make my case for me with actual numbers. I felt all season that Hedge wasn't getting the minutes he deserved.

It has been my experience that, a great percentage of the time, players run themselves off.

Fringe players leave either voluntarily so they can get more playing time or do not have their scholarships renewed.

And, it can't be that bad. If it were, we'd have APR issues.

For the Cajuns, Kentwan Smith is one of the exceptions.

Do you remember were Kentwan Smith transferred and/of if he had a good college career?

Stetson. Numbers seemed average to me but he was the second leading scorer on a bad basketball team

He went to a JUCO for a year and then played two years at Stetson. He was a better than average player in that league.

Is my memory correct in that Smith wanted to return here after he left?
