I think one of the reasons we could expect to see this attitude play out... is that a lot of the pressure of holding on to a ranking... is gone. That isn't a great attribute (not being able to handle the pressure of a high ranking)... but I honestly think this group was playing very stiff as a result of high expectations... and it showed both defensively and at the plate.

Pitching is such a huge part of this game... and we have no reason to expect our pitching won't keep us in the hunt. If guys "toughen up" at the same time they "loosen up"... we'll see what physical skills these guys have. Tony does need to settle on a consistent defensive assignment IMO.

Everybody is under pressure to retain their ranking most do. I'm still of the opinion we have the players and coaches who can achieve excellence this year, but let's quit giving excuses, protecting ranking, system hard to lear, there have been many. Just go out and do what they are capable of and they will be fine.

Kasuls play was very encouraging. Sensley showed he can play RF and his HR at bat, in its totality, was outstanding. Jevin Huvall came in and slammed the door. Guillory was good as well. There were good things that happened in Metarie.

Very true. I completely forgot about how well Jevin did in relief.

Overall, it is just time to stop playing to not lose or not to make a mistake and go out there and try to dominate your opponent.

If our bats can heat up pitching will look better and be more relaxed on the mound
