A lot of things went right last night. Our ball movement was hugely better than I have seen it in any game this year, as was our floor spacing and movement away from the ball. This opened up driving lanes into the paint, and Wright, Stove and Shepherd did a good job of exploiting that, both in scoring and in dishing the ball to Long and Washington in the block.

Most of the three point shots were uncontested and our shooters were well squared to the goal; again, a product of better passing and ball movement creating defensive gaps. 44 points in the paint and Long and Washington being a combined 11 for 16 from the floor also contributed to the 3 being open.

I notice the same. When there are specific points in time that contribute to a loss, posts go up.

    Good win.
If you take away the game against Little Rock on Saturday, the team has actually shot pretty well recently.

----Long and Washington were very good as usual but just think if we had made more of some layups and even dunks that could have gone for 3 point plays---thought we were in trouble early, but inside/outside game was very good----think Bryce made his best shot as a Cajun last night with his spinning move----wow!!!

Has Marlin ever coached a Cajun team who shot the ball well? It's definitely a trend by now.
Your memory is short. The Cajuns led the league in 3-pt percentage just last year.

And, I remember a kid named Mbamalu who couldn't shoot it a lick when he got here. He turned out pretty good.

Interestingly: Our guards have shot 34.7% in that span [including the LR game] Our second worst shooting night for guards [.297 vs USA] was a win; and our second best night for guards [.351 vs GaSt] was a loss. Guards shot 31.0% vs Little Rock.

The post players shot 59.9% for the 6 games. Their worst shooting game was the win against aTmCC last night [.522].

Boomer, how good do you want them to shoot? Long and Washington were a combined 11 for 16 last night [68.6%]

The kettles were cool, especially Ma Kettle!

We actually shot pretty well in the 2nd half against Little Rock. Poor first half did us in. Turnovers the entire game were also an issue there. Physical Little Rock guards contributed to that.

To score 96 points I would venture to say Louisiana shot the ball pretty well. That being said, I too feel as though we need a coach that can recruit some "Consistent" shooters in a hurry!

Any of the Red Shirts consistent shooters? How many young men will Marlin sign this period? Have not heard anything about possible signees? What say you, JayBird, Kevin, Josh?

If they were, they would not have red-shirted.

I believe we have a defensive specialist [Bartley] and a slasher [Davis]. Not sure about who else we have in the wings.
