The funny part is that he is one of our best players overall. If he can work on his quickness and possibly lose a little weight, he will be one of our most reliable players next year. He was perfect to play with Long this year as he has a nose for the ball even though he plays under the rim. He is an excellent passer which is a big reason why he tends to have the ball in his hands at the top of the key in our offense and he's a pretty good mid range shooter. He nailed a big 3 in the LR game and i suspect his range will improve over his last couple of years.

He may not be a physical specimen out there but he's an excellent team player and does a lot of things well.

Bryce also dealt with a knee injury this season.

This makes even good offensive players feel uneasy and press when they shouldn't.

Two, they take care of the ball. They move the ball around and get consistent production from quite a few guys on the court because they play smart. The big guy had around 10 points and they were a product of our defense being broken down with penetration and the guard making great passes so he could finish.

It was clear to me that they were the better team. This was the first time I saw them play all year but I can see how they were so consistent all year. It doesn't hurt to have a guy like Hagins who you can go to when you need a bucket but they are a team with chemistry. Good luck to them moving forward although they have a really tough matchup with Iowa State.
One of the best defenses in the country. They dont turn it over and they make their opponents turn it over. Great recipe for success. Rebounding is a weakness. They have a tough opening game BUT ...
Just pointing out that the Cajuns were in two of the three games until the very end.

And understands passing lanes very well. Anyone have access to the deflection chart? I would bet Bryce is pretty far up there.

Like Long, if everyone did THEIR job as good as Washington we might advance to sweet sixteen.

Agree. I think he is a great role player, hustler, rebounder, team player. Frustration comes from the fact that as you stated he is one of our best players. That is the problem. Need more talent. The fact that he was starter as a freshman says a lot about the overall talent on this team.

He is a much better player than you seem to think he is. Between his injury and having to spend so much time out of position because he is the only guy we have that can bring the ball up court under pressure or make an inlet pass, he has not looked that great much of the time.

Not his fault that our guards are below average on their best nights.

If you're talking about Bryce Washington, you need to watch more basketball. Bryce is easily our second best player. He does many things well, as was apparent when he was relied upon as a 4 to bring the ball up court, over our many guards. While battling a knee injury for the year, he contributed both on and off the court.

The most impressive thing about Bryce is that he's a "glue" guy, a do everything type, and a true offensive contributor all in one.

I can't believe we're even talking about this.

---HUGE problem for both the men and Women is that they had each a VERY GOOD player kicked off the team---What I think were or going to be big difference makers!!!

Watch plenty of basketball when I'm not coaching it. He's a good player. And I do appreciate what he brings to this team. You help make my point, perhaps not articulated well, that he is our second best player. And that is the problem. A glue player is needed on every team and glad we have him. I hope he averages 20 a game next year as our best player with Long gone. But I don't see that happening. That's not his fault, that's not his game. That being said, I should not have used him as an example of why we need better players, never meant to demean his contribution. Goes back to my surprise when I saw him play in high school that the Cajuns were so high on him. No question he will be a great role player/glue player the next few years.

I understand your point much better now.

    I would agree with this.
