Thread: Baseball v. Tulane 3/8/16

One last comment! With runners in scoring position and Trosclair up I would tell him to avoid getting hit at all cost! I would much rather have him hit in that situation. I know getting the free bag is the right call, but when you are struggling to score and get big hits at key times. Start thinking outside the box. Especially with the wind blowing out to LF!

Mental midgets. No killer instinct. The AAIT is missing the A, the other A, the I, and the T. The p word comes to mind.

Greg Davis was relieved of his first base duties right after the Robbins pick off Saturday. Bab was there until the 7th in Sunday's game. G back at first tonight and another pickoff. Anything to this ?

Sat with 3 tulaners....glad ms Poncho and daughter in front....looks like crowd was well spread out with very many empty seats....All these posts seem to be right money or very close to it....thought that they would bunt on the hr and my friends said no...ouch....wind was Really blowing and wonder if it carried the ball up.for Fontenot..was right by the Cajun dugout...not a lot of pep, but I don't have anything to compare it to...tulaners last pitcher is their F G kicker......God what a difference in fan support....well in thr total numbers and involvement',!

I agree with stopping all the shuffling. To me, Mills and Herrington have done nothing but absolutely EARN their starting spots. Everyone else they try to plug into the outfield look like plugs.

Mills in left, Herrington Center, Edwards right.
Conrad 3rd, Robins SS, Tros 2b, Pinero 1b.

This is the best defensive and offensive lineup combined. If you don't see it, you haven't been watching close enough.

I think Robe knows this too, but he was still willing to experiment 1 more time heading into conference.

Mills has been key in multiple games, specifically the Rice win. He brings much needed intensity at the plate and on the bases. Plays with a purpose on offense.

Herrington came in for Clem and had a huge RBI in clutch situation to take the lead. Had multiple good at bats. Seems ready to make his name. Sat on the bench last year watching what real grinders were like. He's not new to this club. Let him take the spot he's earned.

Edwards has been solid in almost every facet, had 1 stellar game, and only 1 base running mistake tonight. He's just been overall good.

Conrad, Robbins and Trosclair are obvious

Pinero has proven to be the most viable defensive First Basemen and has even had a few good at bats, still has bad ones here and there.

    Thurm is Thurm.

Pitching is what we expected and deserves better than what they have had behind them.

Those are my reasonings and I stand by them. Let's figure this out and play well in conference. Season is not over. Not even close. Come on boys. Wake up.

Hmm that's true. I honestly don't know how big a role the 1st base coach plays in these but I think we can all agree we've had an unusually high rate of base running issues, esp at 1st base, this year. And we do have a first year 1st base coach there...o wouldn't say he's "causing" the issues but very well could be a factor

Definitely with the bat. I was thinking defensively.

I dont think we are ranked in the top 25 in the state much less the country. Terrible.

It's a shame the season is over already. Is it too late to scrap the new stadium?

Agree. We are not playing well in many aspects at this time. Yes, it is ok to say that. This IS a message board. However, sometimes I wonder if some think Marlin is our baseball coach. Most KNOW they know more than him....

Anyway... see you all in San Marcos in May. However, if some keep jumping ship....

I'll be the one in red.
