My question is a legitimate one.
Not trying to be a _____, but the guy has caught EVERY SINGLE INNING so far this season. And no, that is not the norm. I caught in high school and played an amateur baseball league (AABL) in college and catching all 9 innings on back to back days is tough. Much less 3 days in a row, and a 5 game week no less.

Point being, I think you can give the guy some slack. He's hitting over .300 and is the staple behind the plate. I think most of us just find it kinda funny that you or anyone would be thinking something is wrong with him. Most of the time people don't even notice all the work a catcher does because he blocks so many balls in the dirt. It's when they mess up or miss a ball that you notice.

I don't see an injured or ill guy. I'm looking for a reason for what I'm seeing.. Just because 1 poster agreed with your take, doesn't mean "most others" do.

I don't know why you have such a hard on for me and my posts, but the truth is, I've never run here to post something "ASAP". In fact, I don't share most information. Last summer, I went in on Hale, and crushed Hudspeth. Nothing insider about any of that. Don't like it? Don't read.

Excuse me, I don't need a baseball lecture. I know the game. I also crouched behind the plate for 12 years. I know the demands well. You people are acting like I'm crushing the guy. We just completed game 12. No, I didn't play 5 game weeks regularly, but we had many tournament weekends where I (and many catchers) played all 9, all weekend long.

The comparison isn't a good one, so I won't take it any further. Point being, Thurm has been unusually sloppy, I don't care what you guys say. As I've said, I watch Nick more than anyone, as he plays the position I played and is my favorite player on the team.

Ok well there's a lot of other people on here who also know the game and find your observations odd.

Almost as funny as CajunEXPRESS being disappointed in our effort today lol.

It's comments like he made that the ball at the end being hit to Robbins at SS when Robbins hadn't played an ounce of SS this whole weekend. It's just annoying when people question players and effort on this team when they aren't even watching closely to begin with.

Try and get some reps for some others especially if we have the game won---Get #2 and/or #3 ready if necessary and give Thurm a rest---With that said, it could be that Robe wants him to see more at bats before conference or some things that we have no clue about---It sure does look like there are a lot more pitches in the front of the plate bounce for all teams!!! Damn can you still say "in the dirt"???

Again, I'm not crushing Thurman. I love the guy. This week, particularly Wed night in Lake Chuck and today, he made some uncharacteristic plays. It compounded when he HIMSELF made the comment that he was taking his eye off the ball. I thought about Pinero and a couple others who were violently ill at the beginning of the year, and pondered the possibility of a linger affect on Thurm, had he contracted it.

Happy with the sweep. I have no issues where we currently stand. I'd like to see what Poncho can do at SS, giving our lineup some flexibility and I'm worried a little about how we hit mediocre left handed pitching so far in 12 games, but I am not complaining at all.

Well I know with Ray out, there's really no one to spell Thurm. I realize he's got a hell of a burden. He had that burden last year as well. We know he can handle it.

---What are the odds that a Kinder dude would start at SS for the Cajuns for what--- 7 straight years???

Does Robe play 2nd string or 3rd string catchers to give the starter a break? I cant off hand remember?

And if you haven't been keeping up with BT at spring training, go check out the highlights.. But Poncho had some solid ABs this weekend and looks to be gaining confidence. Same for Pinero.

I've heard Ray is running gently right now. Have no clue if he will be ready to contribute when he is healthy, but it would be nice if he could give thurm a day or two off every so often.
