His biggest failure was not reading Ragin Pagin before commenting. It's where all factual information originates.

Maybe I didn't calculate correctly, but I come out with us averaging 76.39 points per game in conference (with two overtime games totally 19 pts. - which tacks on about a point/game). Still, a lot of points, right? Well, we win two more games with that extra 3+ points/game.

i gave doucheDave plenty of chances. He seems to get off in taking shots at UL whenever he can.

Coach Murphy made a good point however in that the mid range shot is difficult to obtain at times when the defense is a soft man to man or zone. Turnover often results in those situations. I found the debate interesting. I do note coaches do get defensive when people they do not believe know as much about the game as they do try to give them advice. It is like me taking advice from some actor on how the energy industry works. That being said, I do not know how much basketball knowledge Dave Schultz has. He may have played the game competitively and therefore speaks with credibility. I also listen to them in the morning more frequently these days as they do focus on the Cajuns more than in the past. However you guys should know that last Friday morning he was going on about Jay Wright being in a slump as he only played a few minutes at Troy. I had to call and tell them that Jay suffered an injury which is why he did not play much. He was developing his commentary strictly from the box score. I found that situation indicative of a lack of preparation. He obviously had not listened to the game or read details about the game. If he had, he would have known about the injury. At least read the ragincajuns.com story before preparing your remarks. Injury report was in there. Speculating on Jay's situation without knowing the whole story was unfair to Jay.
I would not attempt to discuss X's/O's with Coach Murphy, or any other coach for that matter. After reading his comments to you though, it seems that the great majority of the offense we have to look forward to under this staff will consist of 3 point shots or layups. I wonder how it was that coaches/teams were able to obtain midrange shots before the 3 point shot came into play.

I hate the 3 point shot.

Appreciate the inside info/analysis you provide throughout the season.

I'm not his agent, so you are not hurting my feelings. His style and persona are a tough sell in this market, but the only reference most on this board have when it comes to talk radio has been the only game in town for years. The line of questioning is not what you normally hear.

I have too. I do appreciate his attempt to ask questions some would like answered. I think the laughter blurred the line for me. I've tried a few time to listen to him again without reason to, and I feel he is at the right station for his persona...a Alice Shoe station. Comes off like tigerdroppings. I agree, when I've listen, he's basically going thru a box score on Cajun games. I think he just goes for the food...lol.

But then again, we're talking about someone who had a great gig at a world class golf club and landed at start up job at a radio station in Carencro, Louisiana.

I don't like his style, but I am glad we have a radio journalist in this market who will ask the tough questions.

I like the tough questions, but he doesn't exactly get a 10 for his approach.

i just like that fact that he gets relevant guests on his show. its an lsu station, but they are talking cajuns every day on the way in to work. i dont think stevie has ever had an interview or a guest on his show, and i just cant listen to his monologue. id rather listen to interviews that are relevant to what is going on around sports.
