Only 9 of the top 25 teams in the D1 baseball poll went undefeated this past weekend.

    It's actually comical.
This tournament was a chance to prove that we are better than P5 schools.
The difference in hosting a super regional and regional series was basically on the line.
Our rpi took a hit this weekend. And now we will be playing through the sun belt with little chance of bringing it back up to get nationally ranked.
Yes we can still host a regional. But hosting a super regional is likely out of the conversation now

IMO we are not out of the running to host a super regional. In 2014 when we hosted we did not play in this style of tournament. We played LSU once and won the Alabama series at home. There were no other P5 schools on the schedule. If this team gets on a roll, beats LSU, sweeps Southeastern and Tulane, wins outright conference and conference tourny, they will host.

I bet many posters on this board did not even play high school baseball and know more about college baseball than me. I played 2 years of college baseball (not that it matters).

We are not out of the running by any means because we have a pretty tough schedule but it tools to be 58-10 to host a super. It depends on what happens around you as far as your opponents and also other people's resume fur those national seed. I don't think it's something anyone should concern themselves with, not this early. If we get towards the end and we are right there you can start keeping an eye on scenarios....or you could watch it now and end up missing and not enjoying an entire regular season.

Even thinking about Supers right now it's ridiculous. Let's go have ourselves a season and see where this thing takes us. Either way, it's going to be fun.

Well this weekend was an opportunity to build towards a national seed. It's still there. Naturally we have to do better than some P5 teams to be rewarded.

I think we have earned our respect in baseball. If we go out and play well for 3 months, we'll be rewarded like we should.

Wow, good to know we have an expert helping us out.

I happen to agree with you; "hosting a super regional is likely out of the conversation now" ... it's a good thing we have close to 50 games left to get it back in the conversation.
