Reality is we should have 2-2 over this past week with, considering our opponents, would have been respectable. I think that's why we didn't get dropped out of the polls.
Hawk, if we play fundamental baseball, we're up 3-0 after 2 innings against TCU. That drastically changes the dynamic of the game (I met their starter Marshall and his dad after the game, and discussed this exact thing. Great folks by the way). I agree that our bats were sleeping on Friday. I also have my critiques about where batters were slotted on Friday, but I realize we're developing..

Polls are useless and of no consequence, especially in Feb. It's my belief that we will end up being on par with TCU mid season and beyond. I thought we were better than both TT and Rice, and we are playing at about 60% of our potential.

I come away from that tournament encouraged.

I agree with all of this and if Robbins was playing shortstop on Saturday we would have won that game. Robe is still playing with the lineup and once the stars lineup this will be a damn good team. It has been a little frustrating but there is a lot to like about this team.

    Definitely.

I maintain that Joe is a #2 bat. A very good one. I'm not sure what the answer is in the short term, maybe put Kyle back up at the top. Our offense is suffering in a big way because of a lack of lead off hitters. Brian Mills looks good, as I expected him to. He and Thurm can anchor 6 and 7 IMO. If we find a lead off hitter, I expect our lineup to be very good.

Even with the fielding miscues had our bats been just lukewarm in the first two games we at worst go 2-1 over the weekend.

I'm ok with it. We were ranked #1 for how many weeks in '14? It didnt make a difference. This team will only take every game and every pitch more seriously.

I love how arrogant the "people who know baseball" are.
    It's actually comical.
This tournament was a chance to prove that we are better than P5 schools.
The difference in hosting a super regional and regional series was basically on the line.
Our rpi took a hit this weekend. And now we will be playing through the sun belt with little chance of bringing it back up to get nationally ranked.
Yes we can still host a regional. But hosting a super regional is likely out of the conversation now

    -Signed,
Mr. I know baseball because I played in hs and you're just a fair weather fan who doesn't understand the game
