Exciting times.....in 1982 the Cajuns under Paschal defeated Coach Jud Heathcotes Michigan St. And lost in the final to Mississippi St. In 1983 the Cajuns played fast break ball to beat Norm Sloan's Florida Gators and the next night playing half court basketball won the Championship by defeating Larry Browns Kansas Jayhawks. Twp years later the Cajuns defeated Tennessee in the 1st game and lost to Pitt in the final....
Dwayne Mitchell from Brian Hamilton, wind mill assault on the rim. I think the opponent was Middle Tennessee, but not sure. 2002 midweek game.
Any dunk by Bo or Roy when they knew they were getting ready to be taken out of blowouts. (Dunks were not "allowed" in those days.)
The Superdome PA announcer could not climb up high enough Larry Brown's colon after that game. Larry Brown this, Larry Brown that. Cajuns just kicked the butt of a Big 12 team, but it was not a fluke and this guy did the verbal diarrhea over Larry Brown. We could ball back then with anyone.
Z is right posting that video..."The Way We Were".
The Long/Hedge thru the legs dunk this year was great. Ok younger fans...imagine going to a game where you KNEW that could happen any night. Not that it did, but there was always the chance. Now if they only had legalized dunking for Ebron and company...my goodness!
That's what I mean the game has passed UL by. The changing of the game into 1v1 breakdowns and the proliferation of teams now D1 we never heard of 20-30 years ago from non football conferences has changed the game. Just look who bid on the SBC conference tournament...Little Rock and DFW...the two non football programs.
