Yes, I have had the opportunity to meet Jay.
You really nailed your point home with the spelling police BS. (Has autocorrect ever helped anyone?) I must have no idea what I'm talking about because an 'e' was inserted where an 'a' belongs. You got me, you clever bastard!
Don't be a clown.
I have meet Jay on several occasions and he is a fine young man. But Jay plays with lots of emotion. If I were to guess and this is only a guess, he was ____ed after the the loss and said something he should not have. Jay wants to win but sometimes lets his emotions get the better of him. The game at ULMost he let his emotions get the better of him and he received a technical. Again I have no clue why he was suspended for the rest of the year.
This is kind of what I was getting at Mel. I want kids on this team that are gutted when we lose. Now, what could he have possibly said or done (if we're going with your theory) that would warrant a year ending suspension? Short of punching a coach or fan, there aren't many options. I find it very telling the Bob came out in the media and said Jay wasn't playing well.. That tells me a lot.
If I had to guess, Jay told Marlin he didn't know his arse from a hole in the ground and Marlin suspended him. Whether it be over playing time or Xs and Os, I could see that happening. That thinking would be in line with many posters here.
Coach suspends a player, it's his call, his team. Marlin did it, so has Broadhead and Hud. Only Marlin seems to be getting questioned.
Robe and Mike were open about it because it was documented in the newspaper what the players did. Otherwise, they would have never publicly said.
Bottom line, it's not our business.
But I can talk to 'nunk Joe, who's second cousin Tee-Dot, who has a boyfriend Bubba, who knows someone in the department. They will let me know...
Everyone will have a different opinion on this. All coaches are different and we have to let them coach/handle HIS team as HE sees fit. I have no problem with as long as he is consistent. I have no tolerance for coaches who let the star players get away with murder while a third team guy gets screwed to set an example or send the message. I also have no respect for a coach who leaves it to the team like Les Miles does. As for as I know, we do not have any coaches like this on our staff for any sports. Being critical for wins and losses is one thing, and I agree he probably shouldn't have called out his play, but I respect the hell out of coaches who make these tough decisions. Just my opinion.
