UL may the only school that will have its Baseball team outdraw its Basketball team this season.

Baseball is averaging 4,500 thru 3 games & Basketball is averaging less than 4,000 if I'm not mistaken! I am a big Baseball fan, but this is NOT good.

I cant see myself going to another basketball game in the foreseeable future. Honestly, I do not miss it either.
I guess I'm lucky in that I love college basketball and I love the Cajuns. I'll continue to show up and cheer.
@Turbine--Stop making sense! Get out of here with all of your logic.

Basketball is averaging 4,123 through 12 home games. It took me all of 20 seconds to find that. Unless baseball sweeps next weekend, I don't see the crowds turning out in 2 weeks like they did for the home/season opener. With exception to softball playing Oregon, which turned out not to be a major conflict as I made all 7 games, baseball had basically the perfect combination for great attendance numbers that may not be likely to occur for every weekend series and midweek game this season.

It's my fault. Told the wife @ the LR game Hedge had become like the Easter Bunny.

If he doesn't return next year, one of the greatest jumpers in UL history not to have that great dunk show we knew he was capable of.

The baseball numbers will be north of 4k for pretty much every game, midweek included. As mentioned, they use paid attendance. Last year averaged 3,908 (for a team that started slow) and I expect this year to be better on average. The numbers should be pretty close at the end of the year

Since UL sold out all season tickets, we know that attendance will be no less than 3,750 for the rest of the season. And it is highly likely that additional tickets will be sold for each remaining home game.

I don't see it, but I hope you're right. Mainly because it will show the flaw in building a new stadium that seats 4500 whenever you are nearly averaging that number. I always thought north of 5000 and closer to 6000 was the number to shoot for.

Getting 4500 paying for a midweek game would require 1500 tickets to be sold outside of the season ticket group. And I just don't see that for a midweek game, especially with tickets being available for those games from the season ticket holders who won't be able to make it.

Anyhow, this thread has drifted enough to almost warrant a split...
But how about that Jay Hedgeman, huh? What a dumb, dumb.

Why would you tell the team, hours before a crucial road game, that the most popular player on the squad is being suspended for the rest of the year?

Why would you talk about how his play (or lack of production) in the presser? What does his play have to do with the suspension? Nothing at all.. So why bring it up?

Something is not right here, I'm telling you guys.

We sold 3002 season tickets. So that will be the low number but obviously there will be plenty of game day and resale tickets available. Our average attendance last year was 3908 which was #11 in the country. 4500 would put us in at 8th right behind Texas A&M. From there you have to jump another 1000 to get to Texas and then another 2K to move up to the number six spot.

Our attendance is incredible. We might not move up much but when you are flying as high as we are it doesn't really matter.
