Haha! Now I see. I offended you. All that time ago. Well sorry, not sorry.
The wallet comment was simply to turn a phrase. I donate like everyone else (mostly) here. An insider? No sir, I'm privileged to have friendships with some great guys around here that know a thing or two, but I'm not any more connected than anyone else could be if they wanted to be. That obviously bothers you though...
Keep using ridiculous anecdotes to prove your points, that will is probably going well for you. In your scenario, the "leader" is always right and the subordinate/pupil/soldier/player is always wrong. That simply is not true.
Anyway.. Geaux Cajuns.
Don't care one way of the other if you are connected or not. Offend..not even close. I donate and are a two sport season ticket holder like many other. And I did not say that the leader is always right. What I said, for the 4th time, is that a subordinate should NEVER openly disrespect his supervisor. If they disagree take it behind close door and take care of the issue in a respectful manner. It is especial important not to do so if the insubordination comes from the leader of the subordinate group. In other words, the team captain should NEVER disrespect the leader in public. Take that crap behind closed doors.
Sorry for the "ridiculous anecdotes". Seems it was the only way I could properly illustrate to you what i meant. As ridiculous as you may think it was...the situations are one in the same. Someone broke a rule and now has to deal with the consequences. His behavior not only affects himself but it also affects the team and its record that will go into the books. It goes as far as hurting Long's chances for the NBA.
But of course its OK with you to #stickittotheman!!
At a minimum, prior to each season starting, the teams meets and the rules are reviewed and systems are in place to ensure issues are addressed. I don't think it is right for either side to disrespect each other in public. Statements like he is suspended for behavior detrimental to the team is about as far as it should go because its really no ones business except the University and player.
An active player should always keep in mind that he was invited to play at UL and can easily, within the agreed upon rules, be asked to leave the program.
I think both side risk crossing a very fine line when internal issues begin to played out in the public eye. Just look at the whole opening of the APC last year. HUD makes a comment after a loss and get some rather significant heat for it. He was being honest about an internal situation, much like if a player starts to stick up for himself in your hypothetical situation. The line is often blurred for adults and nearly impossible to see for college students.
I think the best thing for a player to do is have no comment or say something along the lines of coach and I are currently working on that issue.
Enough, damnit.
I saw you were going in a ridiculous direction with this. I sent you a private message trying to explain the timing without giving away what happened. You have, despite the things I've told you, continued to spread innuendo and have gone out of your way to suggest there's some sort of pattern.
And then, after I private message you, come on this board and say "Jay is going to stick up for Marlin," as though I'm covering something up or lying.
You have an agenda. It's simple as that. You are basing your ignorance (and that's what it is) on 1+1+1=352. It's bull____. And, yes, I'm calling bull____ on it.
Jay Hedgeman ____ed up. Jay Hedgeman got suspended. And, anyone who has a clue as to what happened would support the coach on this one.
You know NOTHING. But you're going to make this out to be a pattern, another reason to get rid of the coach, another strike against something YOU don't like.
Many on this board have tried to be reasonable about this. They don't know what happened and therefore they don't judge. You, on the other hand, are not reasonable about this. And you using what you PERCEIVE to be past indiscretions as a reason to substantiate what you are spewing on this board.
Coach Marlin did not run his player off. His player ran himself off. And your hypothesis, as I've tried to explain to you, is way off base. You have intimated as to what you think happened. You are dead ____ing wrong.
You're a good guy, MAT. I like you.
But on this thread, you are a ____ stirrer.
I'm continually amazed at MAT's ability to have such strong convictions things he freely admittedly has no ****ing clue about.
