I love to watch all 4, but if I had to choose.

    1-Basketball
    2a-Softball
2b-Football (limited number of games plays a big part into this)
    3-Baseball

Baseball and Softball success, while very real and very nice, is as ephemeral as butterfly farts. We are one bad hire away from being ULM in both sports. We are beyond incredibly lucky that Robe and Mike are still here, and neither is a spring chicken.

Kids don't come here to play for UL. They come to play for Mike or Tony.

All you have to do is look at LTU-R women's basketball.... Leon Barmore retires as a consistant Elite 8 coach; LTU goes the budget route instead of hiring Barmore's hand-picked successor, and the Techsters become irrelevant while Baylor wins it all with Kim Mulkey.

That was exactly the scenario I thought about.

There have been believable reports that Mike wants Allison Habetz to be his successor. How many of you here believe that Farmer or Savoie is willing to pay the $200K or so it will take to get her here?

Mike's a better judge of people than either. God willing he'll outlast both. I just get the feeling our softball coaches window is three to five years. Robe a little longer.

After 31 straight years of ranking in the polls, Tennessee's Lady Vols have fallen out of the rankings.

But for every example of a team falling off after a coaching change you can find an example of others that just keep on keeping on.

Tony pretty much has the next guy up hand picked in Coach Bab. He already plays a big part in the recruiting process and is a huge part in the success of this program.

Coach Mike is proof that great programs dont just drop off when they lose a coach. He and Stefni took over the program after Yvette left and they didn't miss a beat and he didn't miss one after Stefni stepped away as well.

Both of these coaches should have the ear of the University at all times. When these guys speak, you better listen. I can only hope that the powers that be listen when these two men when they pick the next guy.

Name one... just one... non revenue program from a non-power conference school that thrived after losing an iconic coach. Other than UL softball which got incredibly lucky with Mike and Stephni.
