Coach Guidry gives some of the best pre game speeches ever. Used to love his pregame speeches before games at carencro
Well, looking at the rosters there aren't many FBS (only 2 are P5, I believe) transfers left. I counted 5 FBS transfers. A DB from TCU, a DB from UTSA, a RB from UTEP, a OL from T Tech, and a DL from TAMU. The only two that have seen much playing time are the DB from TCU and the DL from TAMU. The other three I'm not sure theyare even playing any more. The DB from UTSA broke his leg in the second game of 2014 and hasn't seen the field since. The OL from T Tech didn't play much there because of injuries. He came in last August and got injured again and didn't play at all last season. The RB from UTEP left in midseason last season because he was charged with an alleged sexual assault in El Paso 6 months after the alleged assault. It was one of those he said, she said type things and it must have been resolved because he is back on the roster.
We do have 3 JC transfers on the roster. Two, a WR and QB, I don't know if they ever have been in a game. The DE transfer is good but missed all last season because of a knee injury suffered in August. Hopefully, he will be back.
As far as transfers before next season, there haven't been many rumors so far. Most of the time they happen after Spring workouts and August camp, when players figure out it isn't working for them at the FBS schools there are at.
We aren't one of those schools (like SLU and Sam Houston) that go big with transfers. Probably 90% of our players are high school recruits.

Tommy Restivo is a good young coach with a very good pedigree. He coached under Urban Meyer and Charlie Strong at Florida during the years they won the BCS championship. He followed Strong to Louisville when Strong was hired as head coach there. I think when Strong moved to Texas, Restivo signed on with South Carolina St. as DC for two years. Last year his defense was one of the top defensive leaders in FCS with comparable numbers as our defense last season. Of course, it was Meac so you can question the competition there. Of course, I don't think Meac teams are known for playing defense
I'm sure that Lance will also have his nose in the defense, too.

It will also be interesting to see if our offense changes much in the spring as our new OC is a Mike Leach disciple.

Nothing will matter if our current coach employs the same philosophy as the previous coach, "This is just another game."
