It's not a myth, the numbers do not lie. By far the hardest game to win on the road. Along with other sports like traveling (however sports like football you usually travel days before and settle in) and home field advantage, I would imagine the most common reason would be shooting difficulties and the differences in arenas can play tricks on you.

Oh and this http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=4682821
That's so strange that it's not on for the men. The ESPN3 equipment and personnel are already in place. I can't remember when both of the DH games weren't on in the conference. Oh well
While the dimensions are the same in all arenas, so much of the rest of the arena comes into play. Depth perception when shooting is probably the biggest thing.
But I also read a book called "scorecasting" some years back which confirmed what we have all always believed.
Officials probably impact college basketball more than any other sport when it comes to "home cookin" to about three points per game.
Now, if you take the +/- 3-4 points for venue and add three more to officiating, that's a 7-8 point swing. That's a lot.
Don't see either game listed on ESPN3.
---Jay I asked coach if my Sister in law could do a mural on the basketball practice walls of the Cajun Dome basket background--Liked the idea but never got going----Depth perception is important but what about the new distractions of a baby being born and Olympic swimmer's showing their swimwear!!!
Playing better, but still struggling: 41-45, beginning of 4Q.
Rather see it applied to Tier 2 expansion, or to build trust to fund scholarships....
