Elijah McGuire finally beats App state tonight
We've blown a few this year. No, the best team doesn't always win, but when the odds pan out, it's time for us to win a game we SHOULD win.
Travel is a b--ch, I understand that, but these two teams aren't close. App St does not matchup with us at all. With what we have a stake, this has to be a win.
I agree.
But I'm tellin ya, this guys scare me a little. Perimeter defense is going to be a real key. We have a big advantage in the front court.
They were good enough to beat Georgia State and probably should have beaten Arlington (when Hervey was still healthy). And, they were bad enough to blow a seven point lead in the final minute against Georgia Southern.
Gotta make sure Eaves doesn't have a career night. He's capable of getting 30 every time he goes on the court.
App State averages a roaring 900 fans per game, correct? The typical road game problems aren't there, except travel. At the very least we'll be sluggish in the 1st half....
70-62 Cajuns
We have a front court advantage in every game we play. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rigid guy saying "There is no excuse! We better win or else!" My stance is more about it being time for this team to grow up and perform on the road; against an inferior team. Things happen, yes. But with confidence, on court chemistry finally showing up, and Bryce in better physical standing.. And Hedgemen and Stove finally settling into their roles.. If not now, when?
If I remember correctly Eaves didn't start the game at the cajundome for some reason. We jumped on them early and by the time he got in we already had a nice lead that was able to be maintained.
I'm not buying the whole "it's hard to win on the road" theory. It's obviously a little more difficult to do so than at home but this has to be a lame excuse. Good teams find ways to win on the road, bad teams don't. In every sport, job, etc... there are things that are hard to overcome and the good ones do so and prosper. But telling me that facing an equal to, or lessor, opponent and being able to beat them at their own gym is really hard just doesn't fly in my book.
I agree with all of you on your comments. My only take is this. If the guy in the stripe shirts allow us to play our game and don't try to be the center of attraction with that "look at me, I am in control" we win............
If Marlin is the coach he should be at 350K and 5 years(?) in, we win this.
