A new wall is part of the renovations.

I was told that when the lighting survey was done prior to the Super Regional & Regional two years ago, some areas in the outfield came in at slightly under 20!!!! Some at UL were almost embarrassed to turn the survey into the NCAA.

You're right about the roof. In order to get the longest roof on the grandstand, the poles have to grow in order for the light to still make it over and onto the infield.

The wall was talked about for this winter along with the lights but I haven't heard much on that recently. Guess they'll just lump that in with the post season unless they can do it over a longer road trip

At what point do you quit comparing it to candles and start comparing it to solar flares?

Yes you are correct but for HD TV 150 is the magic number. Day games have the lights turned on because if a cloud bank passes over the light on the field is below minimum. HID lights require a strike time and cannot turn on fast enough. Not so with LED.

Yes I remember Coach Robe saying that the poles behind the plate would be much larger than the rest due to the sheer size of the new stadium's footprint and canopy. I actually think they look really cool and nice being that tall, mainly because it gives you a glimpse into the future of how big the stadium will actually be!

What I can't see is the gaps.....if any....from where the old ones were removed in the bleachers. I wonder how they wil handle that. Both temporarily and post-renovation.

Anyone know if the speaker system will be updated for the bleachers before the season? The old speakers were attached to those old light poles. And man, were those speakers bad. Would be nice to get some more clarity and better sound from the speakers while we're at it! Wishful thinking?
