I'm thinking long term planning had those other sports having their own facilities and/or office space independent from the APC. Football will be the only team housed in the APF. Athletic offices will be housed in the new Cajun Field East side construction. The future basketball practice facility would house the men's/women's coaches offices. Baseball & softball are already at their facilities. The only ones I'm not sure of would be tennis as I'm not sure if the facility currently has coaches offices and golf since we don't have a university course.

The APC was designed to handle ALL athletes for weight training and rehab. No problem there. I've seen a number of online post concerning our athletic training areas in the APC and lets just say there are a lot of schools who would love to have this type of facility. Everyone thinks this is just about football but it isn't. This will help every sport for recruiting purposes.

Boomer -- When State Farm wants to drop eight figures on the department then we can discuss keeping the outdated piece of cable company building. Until then..............

They said it would be at least six months after the APC opened. But it will be closer to next summer before it comes down.

Thanks Jay. I was just speculating.

I was told the Cox facility or dump as someone called it, has to be starting to be torn down at the end of the Year, DUE to Fire Codes, in other words, Fire Marshall has told them this.
Like I said someone told this to me

That was going to be me...

Unfortunately, after we got back from the CC meet at McNeese, we didn't have time to go in and check things out, as I had to rush to get back to Luling. Next Friday is our home CC meet at Acadiana Park, and we will be staying overnight, so maybe I will have time to go over the new facility and check things out.

    Default Facilities

We are now about 4 months past the opening of the APC. Has the front of the building and any signage been completed? If not, what is the hold-up? Is the T&F/Soccer facility completed? I've seen no pictures of it and no pictures on the APC since Hud complained about it affecting our teams performance. RaginCajuns.com has no pictures or updates on either building under FACILITIES. Shouldn't we be making a big deal about our facility improvements or are we waiting until after football season to do that? Can anyone post any current pictures of both facilities? Seems like these two facility additions should be a huge thing for us, yet now seem to be kept so quiet no one outside of Lafayette is aware they are built.

Is the plan to start the baseball stadium renovations immediately after baseball season? What is the expected completion date?

When is the Cox Building to be torn down? Will it be done in time to have the athletic quadrangle completed by the Boise State game next year? Wouldn't mind seeing a mini-version of the campus Quad with an FDL there to help tie-in to campus.

We should get some national exposure from that Boise State game. We will certainly gain exposure to the MWC. It's only about 10 months away. Will our facilities and athletic complex be prepared for it?

I know we've had various threads on each of these over the past few months. How about a consolidated update on each?

    Track and soccer is completed.
The APC is completed, but IMO no exterior polishing finishes will be applied until the Cox building is removed.
Cox building should be removed at some point after football season and before spring drills.
Baseball probably can't start until the cox building removal either (just a guess).

At this point the removal of the Cox building is the next major project that needs to be accomplished in order to proceed.

Thanks for the update. Do you think this will be done and the quad area around the APC and IPF completed by the Boise State game? Can anyone post pictures of the completed T&F/Soccer complex?

That is pretty impressive looking. Wonder why they didn't replace the red with gray to match the rest of the facility? Doesn't look right. I can see the APC, T&F/Soccer Facility, and SEZ project all starting to blend with similar looking construction. Thanks for posting.
