I'm pretty sure a good amout of cash was exchanged between the two parties in order to make this kid eligible.
You guys just don't understand. The student probably just wants a quality faith based education and comes from a financially depressed family. It doesn't matter he happens to play basketball. It's a grant and an opportunity to do God's work. Or at least, that's how it was explained to me years ago after watching a deal go down involving an AD from a local private school.
Just remember, college recruiting is a whole different animal from high school recruiting.
