Like I said, figure it out. I would rather, Stephen f Austin, NWST,shsu, southern, Lamar than any of those 4 schools. I know we will never have a schedule packed with power house les but if you don't think this ooc home schedule was complete crap, I'm glad you aren't the AD either. If those games are paid by money that is raised by this staff for exactly that purpose, why does it matter? Go raise 150k a year and buy decent home games for your supporters.
If Marlin goes out and raises 150K this year I guarantee he'll spend that money on something that helps OUR TEAM, not our supporters.

Well we're not gonna find out if you're right. Bobby BigFish isn't lowering himself to any serious fund raising.

And if he asks the donors for the money to buy games and he doesn't, that's the last time he will get money. People will rarely give you $150k without knowing what it's for. Neither of us have to worry about that because apparently after 6 years still refuses to raise money.

Do you think there are donors who would pony up that much money just to get a little bit better OOC opponent? That's a heck of a lot of money.

We have absolutely no trouble scheduling good OOC competition opponents AWAY. The problem is that we can't get good opponents to play AT HOME.

Here are the OOC opponents LSU played at home this year: McNeese, Southwest Baptist, Kennesaw St., North Florida, Gardner-Webb, Oral Roberts, American, and Wake Forrest. Besides Wake Forrest (because they wouldn't come to the Cajundome,) are there any teams on that list that wow you? Houston and Tulane don't want to play us.
Every damn one of them wows me a hell of a lot more than Loyola or LC.

I am not worried about wow factor. I want better basketball.

Did I say that? Keep putting out these schedule, you will lose the season ticket holders you do have. We had a very large group that has gotten smaller over the years, people that live 20,30,45 minutes away will not drive to watch us pummel horrible teams by 50. I'm not interested in driving the 3 miles I live from the dome to watch that.

I agree. If we had 500k laying around we could get a schedule like that too.

So you want Marlin to go out and raise a few hundred thousand dollars to buy games that will entertain you better? Look, I'd love to see a better OOC schedule too. TRUST ME. But as far as I can tell spending more money on a better OOC schedule would hurt the team financially.

Personally, I expect Marlin to put a good UL team on the court. That's his job. Instead of spending money to bring in good opponents, I'd rather him spend that money on making OUR team good.

How? Buying better players? What does Bob Marlin need that he doesn't have? To make these players better? So playing tough teams on the road makes you better but playing them at home doesn't? If he raised the money he needed to buy games, it wouldnt hurt the program at all financially. Actually would have a chance to help it financially.

Because basketball only has 1 backer right? Our baseball coach is getting a 10 million dollar stadium built and our basketball coach hasn't raised a dollar in 6 years.
