    Exactly.

It would also put some interest back into the games, especially if team 'X' is playing for a relegation or keeping their spot in whatever class in the middle of a 1-7 season.

Those northern private schools can choose to stay in the LHSAA. Membership in these associations is voluntary I believe.

When I say a split, I mean a SPLIT. Leave the LHSAA and form their own association.

I have an idea. Let's put South Arkansas with whatever the high school athletics association is in Arkansas. Where they belong.
South Arkansas = anything more than 50 miles north of I-10 (and I'm being generous here)

Notre Dame also does drug testing. Not the random cheap urine test, but the hair test that can detect toxins up to 6 months or more. You want to help your kid stay away from drugs? Send them to a private school that tests for it. You get what you pay for

If I read the spread sheet correctly, I think the public school principals in this area at Abbeville, Breaux Bridge, Delcambre, Jeanerette, Loreauville, North Vermilion and St. Martinville should be commended in their effort to save High School athletics in Louisiana by voting against the split.

I also have a question for the principals at Westgate, Vermilion Catholic, Rayne, Opelousas, Notre Dame, North Central, Livonia, Hanson and Church Point. Why did y'all not attend and cast your vote, or did you just abstain?

IMHO, this was a way too important a vote not to attend or not to step up and put your name in one column or the other.

High School students and coaches would never sandbag for obvious reasons.

But even if they did, sandbagging would be pointless because you'd get one good year in a lower division then have to move up again the next year.

Maybe they already knew how the voting would play out.

    Good find.

I'd like to point out Column Q and the 23 schools out of 281 that voted against the officials/refs pay increase. Come on.

Should have been done a while back.

    Obviously camp #1
