That was proposed a couple of years ago and it was shot down. It probably will be revisited now though.

Just curious. Do you know why?

To me it seems like they all like to itch about how those schools are way too good for them but they don't want to swallow their pride and acknowledge it by making an elite division for them to play in.

Because once all the schools moved up, the division would then be filled up based on school enrollment, so schools like West Monroe would then have to play the schools that move up and that is what created this mess in the first place.

Oh, the fun is just beginning. So you had all these locations for state championships to play out in basketball. Granted, I don't know the lay of the land of where and when, but wonder if any arenas are no longer needed? That could be fun from a legal point of view.

Now, if they had just stayed the course instead of "spreading the wealth" and remained, let's say, at the dome, no problem.

I think it's going to go right back to a split before next season. All this means is the Executive Committee should have voted on it, not principals. Most of the EC is public school. I'm guessing this will just be a formality

Most of the EC knows where LHSAA gets the bulk of its money, and that going back to a split will result in a HUGE loss of income. [Because if it happens again, the privates will make the split complete.]

Are championship rings and tshirts now considered illegal payments to any of our recruits who were on those unconstitutional teams?

As predicted, after discussion at the Executive Committee meeting, a motion was proposed that the EC vote to ratify the previous (2013) changes to football playoffs. They voted to approve that and now the playoffs are legally, according to the LHSAA Constitution, split by Select and Non-Select again.

Now, they're going to still bring up further proposals to alter the system, but the status quo has been restored so that if new proposals fail, it will just revert to the split system that is in place previously

Once again, the adults of this state fail their own children and grandchildren. We should be ashamed.

I guess that many of these principals just want to win a state championship so bad that they will do anything to enhance their chances of doing so. If they split in all sports, if will be the most laughable thing to ever happen to high school sports. It is absurd for the public school principals to be ok with having public/private schools play each for district championships but to condemn them from playing each other for championships. This frenzy of trying to make everyone equal and happy needs to stop because the only one being hurt are the kids who are being taught something opposite than what the real world is all about.
