UL is losing its popular head strength and conditioning coach, Rusty Whitt.

Whitt is leaving the Ragin’ Cajuns for a similar position at Texas Tech, UL football coach Mark Hudspeth confirmed via text message Saturday night.

Welp, there goes that. Considering how we try to beat teams, this is a huge loss.

Both his previous schools were in Texas, is he from Texas? Hate to lose him but success does bring promotions.

We say the Belt sucks, then when someone leaves for the Big-12 we question it?

I don't know....we looked flabby this year. As a friend, with regular contact with the team, told several of us this past season, the whole program got soft this past year. Sometimes, change is good. We'll see, but I'd be more worried about a losing a good position coach. Whit was good, but I'd bet on Hud finding a good replacement.
