CC123, Cajun Fan1 was discussing the QB not Begue, I believe.
If the purpose of this thread is to promote Begue, RP probably isn't the site for this. It's been posted on multiple occasions, the Cajuns are not recruiting him. Unless the Cajun staff sees RP as the most advanced authority on who to recruit, hire, and design master plans, we are ALL (myself included) farts in a windstorm.
As far as STM's QB, not happening either. For multiple reasons. Doesn't take a Mensa card to figure that one out.
Dude, SERIOUSLY?? I'm always seeing posts wondering about why are we letting good, LOCAL talent go elsewhere.... YOU may not like him, but I don't think you can argue with Begue's play on the field--he was a first down and TD MACHINE!! He EVEN played defensive back and made an interception....Oh, WAIT....didn't I hear Hud say he wished we created MORE turnovers??
I'm just disappointed he didn't appear to even get a sniff from Hud......
I say offer him. He's got slot receiver written all over him. We need receivers.
Apologies to you recruiting experts out there, but I will always defer to local guys. I would like to see us offer all FBS level players in Acadiana.
We need to mend fences in the area, and we need to stop letting players like the OL from Northside to play for a competitor.
He may be good enough to play here, but the fact remains that we have a roster full of slot receivers. We need some wide receivers. It's not hard to see why Hud isn't going to use a scholarship in him.
Gosh, we've had one powerhouse team for about the last decade right here in Lafayette, Acadiana. A run first team. How many players we got from AHS? How many went elsewhere and stuck? It's not just about perceived talent. A great player can make those around them look better than they are. I'd like the best player available. I've seen a lot of great high school players, but the pond gets a whole lot smaller at the college level, and the fish are all bigger. But hey, if Hud was Louie Cook, none of this would be a problem, right?
