He is the 3rd coach in Louisiana to comment on the level of talent UL has, LSU and Tulane coaches being the others. Which team will show up? Looks like the right one showed up against UNO last night.

Yet, when some of us on here have stated that this team is "talented" we get blasted because many fans can't decipher between talent and bad play and see that you can be talented but play very poorly and underachieve.

We made a comment a couple of weeks ago about having enough talent next year to win the Western Division and got beat up for it.

In a separate article under UL Notes, it was stated:

UNO guard Devin McDonald was a UL recruit before signing with the Privateers.

Any chance McDonald would transfer to UL after this year or is he a senior? Is UL still interested in him?

Looks like we have the talent but lack the coaching. Hopefully, that will change next year.

McDonald was a Cajun recruit because of his ties to Steadman. He signed with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi out of high school before Ronnie Arrow went back to South Alabama, so I could see him becoming a Jaguar. But he wouldn't be able to transfer and play there until after July - UNO will withdrawal from the Sun Belt at that time - due to the intra-conference transfer rule.

He signed with Colorado State out of junior college but failed to meet admission requirements there before ending up at UNO. He's a Houston native, so U of H is a likely possibility. Also, Rice coach Ben Braun led the Cal program when UNO coach Joe Pasternack was an assistant for the Bears, so that's another connection.

    No debating that.

I am happy with our current guards. I don't know about you but I think Raymond Andrews is going to be extremely good. Maybe the second coming of Keneth Lawrence. Sure he may not be as fast but his shut down D and his ability to handle the ball is very nice. I like this kid a lot.

I have been saying it all along that this team is talented. As someone pointed out earlier we just need a better leader. I like Gen. Lee a lot but he's just not getting the job done. It looks as thought he has lost the respect of some of his player and by some of his actions I can't blame him. I think that with a good leader and a couple pieces we can win the entire conference next season. Hell, at times I think we can win it this season.

Oh, and this is not a knock on McDonald. That guy looked pretty damn good.

That was me zephyr. You would have though i suggested that we merge with the LSU system.

Its obvious. You have big long athletic guards who can shoot it. And you have a lot of depth.
