We absolutely ran nothing in his skill set. To make matters worse, Hud did Nixon no favors as he likewise was not given anything in his skill set.
This is all of it in a nutshell.
He was kid David trying to wear King Saul's armor into battle. Give that dude the rock and let him sling it, and we'd be in a bowl.
But that's not "our" scheme and "our" scheme isn't changing.
So why'd we recruit a guy who was never going to play to his strengths here?
I hope he gets a shot somewhere and kills it.
Ive read numerous posts about "why did we recruit a passing QB? Hud wasted Haacks time!"
Is it known that that Hudspeth pledged to change his offense to cater his strengths?? If not, why did he commit to an option-minded offense?
I guess we can all agree Brooks is finally free. One last time...
FREE HAACK!!!!
Best of everything Brooks. Many of us appreciated you and your abilities. I'm extremely sorry you were recruited into an offense that could not support your talents. Please leave knowing that a substantial number of fans knew of your talents, and we admire how you conducted yourself in our program. I know it's no consolation for you, but you did make a much greater contribution than you believe. The intelligent Cajun football fans learned a great deal from your presence in our program.
Go forth and succeed young man!
