Next year will certainly be interesting...Davis better get after it

So we start next year with this look:

SR--Jalen Nixon (hopefully moves to RB)
So--Patrick Morton--Walkon QB, doubt he ever sees time at QB
    R-FR--Dion Ray
    R-FR--Chris Weaver
    R-FR--Gunner Hudspeth
    R-SO--Jordan Davis
    True Fresh--Jake Arceneaux

    Am I missing anyone?

Look I like Haack (that is the spelling, not Hack) as much as the next guy, but whether it was the offense or him, he never got it done. He has talent and in the right system might have success, but he is not the second coming of Brett Favre. He was a solid QB that had moments.

I hope the best for him and I hope he goes somewhere that we do not see him next year and has a good season. I dont see this kid going somewhere and being lights out. I see him going somewhere and being solid.

J-Davis is got the inside track to me on the starting nod from what I saw of him. Granted I have not seen anything of Ray, Hudspeth, Weaver, Morton or Arceneaux, but I believe Ray and Weaver should be his only competition, that is all dependent on what we do with Nixon.

I just do not see Nixon being the guy, personally.

"What is Rebowe's phone number" said Brooks Haack.

Nixon has proven that he is not the guy. I wonder if we are in a situation where the kid believes himself to be a QB and just isn't willing to accept a move.

It is tough to be a QB who can't move his feet when your O-line cannot sustain blocks. I agree that whether it was the offense or him, he never got it done. I suspect Haack either saw the handwriting on the wall (that Davis is the future) and wants to get some decent exposure in his senior year, OR he sees that next year will be much like this one, in that anyone taking snaps is going to spend significant time running for their lives. Either way, I hope he finds a program that will give him some time to throw.

agreed and well stated. I hope the best for the young man, he seems like a very good kid.

I respect the young man for keeping his mouth shut in the media when he got benched and continuing to chop wood. Those kinda kids don't come around very often. His dad being a coach probably had something to do with the way he handled the situation. In this day of the glorified college athlete, no matter what sport....you do not see the character like this kid had about the situation. It is tough for a kid to be a qb at the D1 level and not have the support of the coaches and the guys in the locker room. In my opinion, I think the locker room wasn't 100% behind him, therefore idk if they gave 100% effort. Pure speculation on my part but I think it was a factor. I hope this kid blows it up wherever he goes. He deserves it

I wish Haack the best, he deserves it. The way Hud handled Jalen at QB makes me pretty sure he was that kid in preschool trying to shove the square peg in the round hole.

I think there were plenty in the locker room who were 100% behind him...the problem was 100% of the locker room was not behind him

This just sux period.. Haack is a class act !!! Losing a leader and classy athlete certainly dont help our cause. Haack and his family have every right to blast Hud. If Jalen is even mentioned as being a possible starter or in contention to start next year Hud will clinch his own demise..
