---Man come on!!! You guys act like this is the first time in football history there wasn't a matchup of skills and offenses---It is over so lets forget about it and put forth the word of what a great place that our situation now has with our facilities and the rest coming!!! We should break our RCAF record, the baseball deal is working, we have the best academic scores around, we are looking at 20K for enrollment next year, we broke our season ticket sales records, the WBB is rocking, the MBB will be ok, the Spring is the Spring, our campus has turned into a most beautiful setting----and just maybe he didn't have the talent that some thought---best of luck to him and his wonderful family!!! Whew!!!
What does it say about your program when the captain of your team decides he does not want to come back for his senior year?
Dude, they're two different arguments. You're trying to compare apples to oranges. One argument is "it takes more than one great player to win a basketball game" and the other is "Haack didn't outshine our other QBs."
No one on God's green earth ever said Simmons is failing as a player. He's putting up monster numbers for LSU. The rest of the team isn't, and that's why LSU isn't a good team this year.
Hack obviously didn't have a great O-line, great receivers, or maybe even a great coaching staff to help him. But guess what? Nixon and Davis also had to play under the EXACT same conditions. Did Haack outplay either of them? Nope. Haack's QB rating was lower than Nixon's, he didn't put up monster numbers, and he never made the big plays. Haack was never going to be the guy to lead us back to the promised land.
You just don't get it, Rebel. Haack was vastly superior as a QB, this year, than anyone in the stable. We were running Nixon and Davis plays if/when we ran a sequence of reasonable plays. That EXACTNESS was the problem. Do you understand that? The offense, in every capacity, was not shifted to help Haack use his talents... and allow our team to succeed. He couldn't put up monster numbers. Jalen and Eli were in the wrong position and the wrong plays were being called. You can't get a shine out of a QB that you smother in ____!
And yes... you actually can stomp other mediocre teams when you have the likes of Ben Simmons. Johnny Jones isn't a good coach. LSU isn't untalented at the other positions. They play exactly zero defense. And they aren't taught how to rebound on either end of the floor.
His senior year in high school Haack finished with 1868 yards and threw for 31 touchdowns and had two interceptions. His qb rating was 136.9
Apparently at UL the coaches had a perfect game plan and the offensive line, and receivers played lights out.....Haack just feel apart right?
Haack signed thinking he'd play with receives like Peewee, Surgent , Lawson, and Peoples.
