His senior year in high school Haack finished with 1868 yards and threw for 31 touchdowns and had two interceptions. His qb rating was 136.9

Apparently at UL the coaches had a perfect game plan and the offensive line, and receivers played lights out.....Haack just feel apart right?

Haack signed thinking he'd play with receives like Peewee, Surgent , Lawson, and Peoples.

I know it's no consolation for you, but you did make a much greater contribution than you believe. The intelligent Cajun football fans learned a great deal from your presence in our program.

Go forth and succeed young man!
Cud is, well said and appropriate, hope he reads this site, thank you

First of all, every D1 college QB puts up monster numbers in High School.

Second, you obviously skipped over the part where I said he didn't have a good O line, good receivers, and perhaps even a good coaching staff?

Suffice to say our offense, either due to blocking or play calling, wasn't suited to Haack's skill set. He always represented our university with dignity and class, never pointing fingers at the reasons for failure but taking it upon himself. I wish him the best in his future wherever that might be. He'll always be a Cajun just like his sister before him.

I wouldn't say that is accurate. Nixon certainly didn't put up monster numbers passing at Carencro running the Wing T. Jordan Davis didn't put them up either running the Zone Read out of the Spread.

Please, had he thrown more than 9 passes in the Redzone he could have had 20 TDs and he had a 60+% completion percentage throwing low completion rate passes. All that with getting yanked mid drive for a stupid read option okay that more times than not lost yards putting us behind the chains. That doesn't even mention the terrible OL play.

You've always covered every contingency. Still you always end up on the dumb ___ side of the issue. Haack wasn't given a real chance. Hud's foolish situational quart backing moves killed many promising drive.

Bottom line you supported Hud's bad coaching most of the year.

Then quit glossing over the contribution of "bad coaching staff" to how ineffective Haack was. You act as if every constant was the same for all of the QBs. It was the coaching that bungholed the ability for Haack to capitalize. They radically needed to anchor our offense around Haack... from a play design and sequence all the way to perhaps the most important aspect... complete respect and trust. They didn't do that. It was very obvious. And it crippled us.

I'm not ignorant to the other components that also failed. But it was an orchestrated failure that began with a failure to shift our offense to an approach that stabilized everyone around Haack. That wasn't done because his skills are not what this staff (head coach) wants to negotiate with. Hud requires a dual threat QB with maximization on mobility. Hud can be handed a 250 piece set of tools. But he's proving that he wants to use a hammer for everything. He'll stare at the socket set and talk socket talk. He'll even twirl the wrench for you. But at the end of the day, the hammer's coming out to bang all of the screws into place.

Have you guys even considered the possibility that Hud and Haack had a heart to heart, and Hud honestly assessed where he was in this system compared to Jordan Davis, and thought about the kid's future?

You just listened to an interview where Robe talked about doing this with every player every Christmas. Letting him know exactly where he was, where his teammates thought he was, what kind of fit things were working out to be... at Christmas, before the Spring, before the games, and before the turmoil hits the field on gameday.

You think Hud doesn't care enough about his players to sit down and have a heart to heart about their future - especially somebody like Brooks Haack?

4-8 blinds the eyes of a lot of folks.

Take a deep breath. Jordan Davis is going to be awesome, and Brooks Haack is going to be asesome in the right situation.

Y'all going to revisit all this if Hud gets us to a Sun Belt Championship and Top 25?

I think he cares about these kids more than wins. Y'all applaud Robe for this. Robe has had some pretty down years, too.

    Deep. Breath.

Boom, this is a Brooks Haack football thread. The good thing for you is your boy Nixon will probably be back.
BTW, in this day in age, it looks better when one writes C'MON man!
