I really thought it would (and should) be someone else. Now I'm hearing his interview didn't go well. So that info might be accurate.
I don't think either Viator or Walt Bell would be a very popular hire with the fan base...especially Viator, who seems to be Bruno's guy. SMDH
Heard Bell was offered and he turned the gig down. Viator's issue is his local fan base is shrinking. McNeese might be able to get up and beat teams in the regular season, but have lost their last 7 FCS playoff games, including last weekend after a 10-0 regular season.

That's correct. Looks like it will be Viator, unless he turns it down, too.
Viator is the guy Bruno wanted.
But in reality, it doesn't matter. Unless ULM (and it starts with Bruno) is willing to make more than a lip service commitment to athletics (and he isn't) then this is a graveyard job, just as ours used to be.
If I remember, McNeese just raised Viator to 150K. Bruno could get him possibly for less than they were paying Berry. I'm not a gambler, but given ULMost's finances, that is probably what killed the Bell deal. Looks more like ULMost fans have the taste for a Lexus and will end up with a Kia.
Both Bell and Viator have turned it down. Sources confirming ULM president not willing to make a commitment. They've taken four guys they had eliminated and put them in the mix.
This has Jerry Baldwin written all over it.
Well, Bruno strikes again. Both finalists (the guy from Ark St and Viator from 'pokes) turned down the job because Nick was committed to the football program. Shocker. But what a disgrace to the supporters of that school.
Also former AD Wickstrom is a finalist for Tulane gig. If he gets the job, Cajun recruiting will suffer. The only reason we're even getting marginal top 75 - 100 guys is because Tulane has been awful as a program. I'd take Wickstrom over our guy right this second.
What does an AD have to do with recruiting? Does Farmer make visits?
