In my opinion you don't gain experience in the system by sitting on the bench. You learn the system with live bullets flying. These schools took lumps by playing the young guy but now have more seasoned and experienced QBs. When you look back on this season if we'd have played Davis more he'd be set up to succeed going forward. Now we really don't know what we have moving forward.

We wasted a whole season trying someone at QB, who should have never been there, instead of working Davis in the 2-QB system. By now, he would be the unquestioned starter, and next season would go a lot smoother than it will.
Two things would have to change to get a high profile pocket passer QB.
1. offensive game plan...from option style to more pro-style offensive.
2. multiple receivers that can run clean, crisp routes and can catch.
Unless those two things change, obtaining a high profile pocket passing QB is useless.
and you are supposed to have a graduate school academic program that their current school does not have
