Thread: High Profile QB Transfers

    Default High Profile QB Transfers

Anyone want to speculate someone that we might be able to grab? All of the high profile guys I've seen are pocket passer types.

A lot of high profile p5 schools are going to want Kyle Allen and Trevor Knight...we have no shot at those two.

Ole Miss: Devante Kincaid would fit us if he wanted a release
    LSU: Anthony Jennings
    Georgia: Faton Bauta
    Florida: Treon Harris

Two things would have to change to get a high profile pocket passer QB.
    1. offensive game plan...from option style to more pro-style offensive.
    2. multiple receivers that can run clean, crisp routes and can catch.

Unless those two things change, obtaining a high profile pocket passing QB is useless.

Get a dual threat guy. JD needs a little more time, so have him wait a year behind a senior year transfer.

I don't get this Taylor lamb has destroyed us 2 years in a row, arguably the best QB in the league for 2 years...he will be a junior next year. Jones at TXST has been playing since a freshman, why are we the ones that need a QB to be in the system for 4 years to be successful?

In my opinion you don't gain experience in the system by sitting on the bench. You learn the system with live bullets flying. These schools took lumps by playing the young guy but now have more seasoned and experienced QBs. When you look back on this season if we'd have played Davis more he'd be set up to succeed going forward. Now we really don't know what we have moving forward.

Nope. Hud's offense doesn't require a long learning process. You either have the skills and fit the profile when you arrive, or you don't. The added bonus is if you have a lion's heart and are a good team leader. Those are also either with you when you arrive or they are not. So yes... we could take a transfer that could beat out our stable of QBs. Do we need to? I don't know.

He isn't the greatest but certainly not their biggest problem...they have the worst defense in America

    Yep.

We wasted a whole season trying someone at QB, who should have never been there, instead of working Davis in the 2-QB system. By now, he would be the unquestioned starter, and next season would go a lot smoother than it will.
