Sorry, no sale. I would expect any coach to try his preferred system, and then adjust when it becomes readily apparent when he doesn't have the kids to run it. I expect him not to run his kids into a buzz saw over and again all in the name of his system. These coaches are professionals. They do this for a living. Adjusting is a part of the gig. By your reasoning, we would never see coaches switch from tight ends to offensive line. After all, tight ends is all they know.
Remember, as much as we want this to be about us, it is really all about how the kids. Holding on to any system longer than warranted is not about anything but stubbornness.
Let me point out here that nothin you wrote - nothing - explains the consistent inability to get off of blocks or tackle or run to the ball. These are things learned in high school, if not earlier. No player we recruit would have escaped these fundamentals. That you did not see them consistently this year speaks to coaching in a way nothing else does. HUD and crew need to return to basics.
I'm not complaining that people are complaining. This article tells you nobody is being let go. The only thing now is to see who else gets the boot (players) and who they go get to help for next year from juco and recruiting. While the defense wasn't great, I expected problems with the defense even if we stayed healthy. The offense was a much bigger dissapointment and our head coaches strength. The head coach acknowledged we sucked, I acknowledge we sucked. He said he would fix it, we will see. It's just amazing that HUD has a bad year and everything under the sun is on his shoulders...stokley stunk the joint up at the end of his career and none of it was his fault. You can't have it both ways, is e erg thing under the sun on the head coach or not? Sure looks like the guy taking snaps is more important than any other aspect of the program...at least here anyway.
He said as much didn't he? We will see right? Because I don't think he or his defensive staff are getting fired. This staff tweaked the system all year long, we just don't have the Bulls. The coach publicly said we will probably go get 2 juco safeties a juco corner and a juco DL...I think that's a coach accepting he doesn't have the Bulls. The whole game has gotten away from fundamentals, you think that's here? The pros don't have fundamentals... They out there throwing shoulders on Sunday's.
There is more to this article than just a statement that no coaches are being let go.
Hud's actual quote: "The only downfall of this year's defense was the lack of turnovers we got."
We couldn't tackle a 3rd string 4th grade PeeWee running back this year, partially because on every God blessed play our defenders appeared to be auditioning for jobs at Chippendales all in the pursuit of achieving Hud's goal of forcing turnovers.
I, like you, will be very interested to see how this defense performs next year with these very highly touted DB's (Thomas and Allen). I seem to recall much praise for Crawford and Walker though.
You are complaining about people complaining. You said it's over. What else you want? It's basketball season now. You're like an old man offended that everyone gets offended at every thing nowadays.
And no, I'm not mad bro. And I bet you "can't even deal" right now, but it's gonna be ok. People are gonna complain all the way up until baseball starts and then start up again in July. Deal with it or only click on the basketball threads.
Ok bruh... I'm all for discussion on what went wrong and how to fix it...stomping your feet and screaming HUD has to pay gets old, he so dumb, his shirts too small. That's what I mean by what do you want..make suggestions.Hud actually has surprised me just how much he has accepted this failure. I think it was one giant ___ storm that collided between losing talent and leadership, more injuries in one year than previous 4 combined, an entirely new staff, an inept offense, depleted online and unnecessary QB controversy that was handled poorly that split the lockeroom. It sucked, we sucked. This same coach came in and fixed a 3-9 football team in year 1, I have no reason to not see if he can do it again. Some of the cluster was in his control some wasn't.
