Tech is just a glorified SBC program anyway. Hats off to them, for getting out of it by being proactive... Better liars and deceivers than UL...
not that it means much but ESPN is predicting 3 sbc bowl wins, Ga Sou as the only loser.
---I don't like LTUR in the NO Bowl because of one thing for sure---Recruiting and name recognition in South La
T-Joe mentioned that we could top 20K this coming Fall and the UL thing seems to be destination spot for more and more of that Mississippi Pearl River to the Sabine River kids!!!-I know that they won't have the impact that we did maybe they bring 20K???
I can't tell you how many kids I see going to UL from New Orleans. Too bad our alumni association here is so weak. We could be doing really big things here if we had a bigger, more visible presence.
Yes, we were more proactive and are in a conference that is better on the field, but more importantly much better and more stable with their finances and deals. That's where the real value is, but go ahead and stay in the Belt, I'm sure things will get better.
FIU and FAU are improving, WKU cracked the Top 25. ODU has a huge budget, give them another 5 years. Soon we will expand and take GA State and USA and then let's see what the Belt does. The future of that conference is an 8 team, basketball only league. Enjoy.
The reported long term plan of CUSA is to get to 16 teams. After the P5 schools split, and they will, CUSA will merge with MWC to form a 32 team conference with two 16-team divisions. That will leave CUSA/MWC, AAC, MAC, and a severely diluted, 8 team Sunbelt. The end is near, Benson is doing exactly what he did with the WAC. He is burying his head in the sand until it's too late.
