I love McGuire as much as the next guy, but 54 players rushed for over 1,000 yards this year. Two players played for one team. That's 41% of all FBS teams. 7 out of 11 SunBelt teams had a 1,000 yard rusher.

Did McGuire have a good year? Yes.
Is reaching a 1,000 yards this grand accomplishment? Maybe.
Dissecting every word to get your point across about The Advocate? Definitely

In the NCAA 1000 yards is the #1 measurement of RB success. If that is not achieved, yards per carry becomes the next measuring stick of success.

1000 yards is the universal standard though.

You are right I needed to step back and see how it sounded.

I should have said I have always thought of 1000 yards as the universal standard.

What about this stat----yards per carry---touches matter!!! Also too many variables to truly pick the top rusher, but just quickly think #in the box!!!

1000 yard seasons are getting more valuable or at the very least a bit rarer.

More games should mean more runners getting thousand yard seasons. That is tempered by more passing, and spreading the running loads. Not many thirty carry players today.

This is why I'm removing the locked in 2nd running back in my fantasy league next year, and adding in a flex position for wr/rb/te. Lower demand where it can actually close in on supply.
