You get it. If we are going to miss...might as well miss locally and build up some good will with local coaches.

That's all well and good...but transfers have a very low success rate.

By the time they get in...their development is already stunted. Look at Otha Peters at the beginning of the year. He looked lost. At the end of the season...one of our best linebackers. Now let's put him in the system 2 years ago, he would be an unstoppable force.

They kill us in the river parishes and in NOLA...but we can't even bring in kids from Acadiana:

2016 Class: Kevin Moore-Acadiana Committed to Texas Tech
2015 Class: Jason Pellerin-Catholic High of New Iberia Committed to Ole Miss
Jalen Bates-Kaplan Committed to Arizona State
2014 Class: Tae Thibodeaux Westgate Committed to Louisville
2013 Class: Josh Boutte Westgate Committed to LSU
Deondre Skinner Patterson Committed to Houston
2012 Class: Lorenzo Phillips Patterson Committed to LSU
    Jacoby Briscoe Committed to Miami

We were in on every single one of these kids. I realize the ones who went to LSU were going to go there regardless. How can we expect to build a fence around the state...when we can't even get any recruits in our own backyard?
Those are all P5 schools hawk. It's not that hard to see why they don't want to come here. The grass is just too green for them to stay.

Other than LSU...none of these schools are deemed elite P5 schools. If the grass was so green...why are they transferring home? I reject that notion. Most P5's have deeper depth charts than most G5's. So while they are going after the offer from the perceived better school...they are limiting their own chances.

I don't think any of those recruits commit to a P5 with the expectations that they'll never see the field. I would hope they all believe and will work towards stepping on the field at whichever P5 school they choose.

If they don't, we probably shouldn't want them as transfers.

This is the list of current commits. Two kids from the acadiana area. Do we only take one QB? I do not see any lineman that really stand out. I hope they can coach them up.

Band Wagon King will tell you that UL screwed up about one recruit for sure!

There's 1 o-lineman that youn don't have listed that looks pretty solid, Alfred Beverly. I think the wiggins kid has the potential to be a good pass rusher.

Yes, i forgot to add him. I was referring to mostly O Lineman. I had the chance to see some of them this summer at camp and I was not overly impressed. With that being said, I am not a coach nor am I a talent evaluator. I hope they pan out. Dontrell Allen is an incredible athlete and will compete for a starting job as a freshman.

Woodard was dropped for grades, Beverly is not on the list and Cajuns also have a RB committed. Don't hold true to this list because they may have to upgrade other positions in this class and I expect several more changes.
